Behind the Scenes from Bridging the Gap and New Book Title

Bridging the Gap went so well last Saturday, and I am so thrilled with all the incredible nuggets that were shared! It was our second year. This conference was moved online to reach more people throughout the country. I heard a song called by this name. It was a rapper named Nas, who was new and fresh. He wanted to also play homage to those who had come before him during the jazz and blues era where his dad had played. Both were on the record. He was bridging the gap and showing those influences.

For me, I think the title means, bridging the gap of knowledge, providing information within our community that we can use for our children, for those we are caretakers of, and for those we love. It also provides information on our community partners who help us navigate our world.

During our panel, we had a variety of mothers who shared why they created their platforms, use them to help others in unique ways, and bridge the gap in their communities. A light shined on us that day as we had people from everywhere tune in to hear my keynote and provide a stepping stone to start with one step towards travel, because Travel IS Possible! This is how the blogs and the conference started, with my book titled “Travel IS Possible!” available here:

I wanted to continue to give to this community, so I created my “Top 10 Travel Tips for families with neurodivergent children.” It is your go-to guide for mastering the art of travel and preparing for international destinations. Whether you're a seasoned traveler or embarking on your first adventure abroad, this comprehensive list covers everything from packing essentials to navigating cultural etiquette. With these valuable insights, you'll be able to maximize your travel experience and avoid common pitfalls. Say goodbye to the stress of planning and hello to a smooth and enjoyable journey with the “Top 10 Travel Tips.” Get ready to unlock the keys to successful and memorable travel experiences with this must-have resource. It started with my two children. They struggled in the beginning to travel. I wanted to share not only our struggles, but our successes. It was not an easy road, but it can be traveled with planning and preparation. I am committed to this community. It is my community. I am passionate about it because Everyone Deserves to Travel!

I also want to thank the amazing Dr. Brandi Tanner for once again being an incredible professional resource. She is a former school psychologist and special education teacher that now helps families make sense of IEP plans for their child. I think she is truly a gift to all of us who have children with special needs. If you have not seen her keynote, I encourage you to watch it on my YouTube channel.
